You either get on the one-hour flight with me to Auckland this afternoon and we’ll be there by dinner, or you can spend twelve hours alone on a bus. You’ll get stuck next to some weird guy missing half his teeth that is probably a serial killer in disguise. You’ll need to pee at some point, and you’ll realise the door doesn’t lock and someone with IBS has shit all over the bathroom. The AC won’t work, sleep will be impossible, and you’ll spend the entire time wishing you’d put on your big girl pants and got on the damn plane.

I’d always hoped there was an afterlife since I’d never liked the thought of just blinking out of existence. The thought of all that nothingness terrified me. I was expecting robes and halos like in the movies, but this was so… pedestrian.  Horrible murder aside, it was terribly anticlimactic.
