Worlds Apart will be published in 2026. I’m delighted to say that Worlds Apart was awarded second place in the RWA Emerald Award. The Emerald Award is an award for a full manuscript written by an unpublished author, which is judged by readers, writers, and industry professionals.

When two hot-headed workaholics from opposite sides of the world meet, they bond over their shared misfortunes and embark on a journey of discovery spanning continents – from New Zealand all the way to Sweden.

Alexandra is a workaholic accused of being arrogant and inflexible after working in the male-dominated construction industry for years. When she’s removed from a project for calling out sexism, she decides she can be flexible after all by quitting on the spot and jumping on the first plane out of the country.

Queenstown, New Zealand, is almost as far away from corporate lawyer Einar’s native Sweden as it’s possible to get—he checked. Looking to escape his family drama after being thrown under the bus by his brother, all he wants is to be left alone to plan his next move.  

Alex and Einar forge an unexpected friendship as their paths continue to cross. After all, it’s easy to be open and honest with a perfect stranger they’ll never see again. Just as they start to explore the spark between them, they each receive an enticing career opportunity that could redefine their futures—but would send them back to opposite corners of the globe.

Faced with the choice between pursuing their ambitions or risking it all for a love neither saw coming, Alex and Einar must decide which adventure is more important.
